  • Kuvaus: Three brothers, two twin boys and a girl, have instituted a game in the basement of their neoclassic house. They drink the “dead liquer”, which works as an aphrodisiac and affects their feelings. The odd balance which they have created is upset when their widowed mother (Betty Livanou) marries a left-wing lawyer (Spyros Fokas). This action has a marked affect on the conservative social situation in Athens in the 1950s. The love of the sister for a young man leads one of the twin brothers, who is in love with her, to a suicide attempt. The now pregnant mother finds out the truth and provides a solution to this seeming dead end by selling the house in exchange for a couple of flats in the apartment building to be erected on the spot.
